About Us
Little Wellingtons Childcare was opened by Maria and Stella in the Autumn Term of 2022. It is a highly regarded provision that serves children and families within the London Borough of Enfield area.
Together, Maria and Stella bring more than 35 years of combined experience in early years education and childcare. Their shared expertise and passion have enabled them to create a high-quality early years provision that supports children to learn, grow and thrive.
Located in the heart of Ponders End, Little Wellingtons Childcare provides an enriching and stimulating environment where children can flourish and families feel supported. Drawing on extensive experience gained across schools, private nurseries and advisory roles, Maria, Stella and the team have developed a unique setting. We provide a warm, nurturing ethos that values every child as an individual and recognises the importance of working closely with families.
Our setting is based in a modern building in EN3, off of Hertford Road. We offer a bright, welcoming environment designed to inspire learning and exploration. Children benefit from direct access to a secure outdoor garden through bi-fold doors, enabling free-flow play between the indoor and outdoor learning spaces.
We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) guidance, providing a planned environment that encompasses areas of learning and development. Through engaging activities, meaningful experiences and supportive relationships, we encourage children to explore with confidence, develop independence, build self-esteem and reach their full potential.

The Little Wellingtons Childcare team
Our team consists of:
Managers/Deputy Manager who handle overall operations, budgets, compliance, staff mentoring and parent communication and ensure EYFS compliance.
Room Leaders who plan age appropriate daily activities to encourage areas of learning alongside Early Years Practitioners.
Early Years Practitioners work directly with children to support their learning, development, and wellbeing. They provide high-quality care, promote inclusion, and support all children to reach their full potential. Practitioners help plan and deliver engaging activities across all areas of learning, including communication and language, physical development, personal, social and emotional development, literacy, mathematics, understanding the world, and expressive arts and design.
Special Education Needs Coordinator (SENCo) who supports children with special educational needs, develops individual education plans, and liaises with early years practitioners, professionals and families.
By fulfilling these responsibilities, early years staff create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment that supports children’s growth, learning, and wellbeing.
